This indescribable sensation is usually only experienced by skydivers in the free fall phase. At Hurricane Factory this can be experienced by everybody: Here the dream of flying will be fulfilled – together with a professional instructor you take off in the wind tunnel, an unforgettable experience for all from the age of 5 years!
Hurricane Factory is the biggest wind tunnel in Germany: the all-around glass channel has a diameter of 5.20 m and a hight of 15 m, wind speeds up to 280 km/h are possible. In the safe environment of that glass flight cylinder your body will be carried by the wind – pure fun and adrenalin!
An exciting trip in a new dimension – if on your own, in pairs or as an extraordinary adventure with your friends and family. Also as company event or in context with a meeting or conference the flight experience is a highlight far from the everyday occurrences. And the best is yet to come: you don’t need any special skills to take off: everything you need to know will be explained directly before the flight!

Directly at the wind tunnel are the grandstand and the bistro, so that your „flight attendants“ can follow the flight immediately – an exciting experience for flyers and guests! The all-around vitrification allows an undisturbed view onto the flight proceedings and the impressing setting of the flight hall: with its modern industrial architecture the spirit of flying is presented light-flooded and open with many free lines of sight.

You only want to wonder and have a look at the proceedings in the wind tunnel? We are looking forward to your visit – also if you do not want to fly (yet)! Our bistro is situated directly alongside the glass flight cylinder, so that you can follow the events in the wind tunnel very closely: optimal conditions to marvel at Fun and Pro Flyers!

The air streams through a closed circulation system that branches out on the right and left side of the building into three pipes each. The single airstreams then meet underneath the wind tunnel and supply the vertical flight tube in the center of Hurricane Factory evenly with wind.
The actual flight area is the middle part of the wind tunnel and has a hight of 15 m, it is glazed all around at a hight of 6 m and is confined below by a walkable steel net.
The wind is accelerated by six large fans with a power of about 2.100 kW in total. If child or adult, if Fun Flyer or Pro Flyer – in the wind tunnel the perfect wind speed for every weight and maneuver can be generated. According to requirements up to 280 km/h will be achieved, the required wind speed will be regulated permanently by a professional controller with direct view at the flight cylinder.
